Principal's Message

Dear Bowen Elementary Families,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Principal of Bowen Elementary. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. On a personal note, my husband and I are proud parents of two precious girls, a six year old and a three year old. They bring me such joy and keep me very busy.

 

On a professional note, I am beginning my fourteenth year in the field of education and my seventh year as a principal.  Prior to becoming a principal I spent seven years as an elementary classroom teacher where I taught second grade, third grade, and worked with all grades kindergarten through fifth as a Title One teacher.

 

I am a 2005 graduate of Powell County High School.  I finished my degree in Elementary Education in 2009 and my degree in Educational Administration in 2012. I achieved the status as a National Board Certified Teacher in 2014.

 

As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors—teachers, students and parents—are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun and nurturing environment.  Please feel free to call the school anytime you have questions or concerns.  If I am not available I will be happy to return your call as soon as possible.
