Raising proficient readers is a team effort from both teachers and parents!
While Powell County Schools is dedicated to providing an enhancing environment for teaching learners to read, we know that parents are willing to participate and engage their young reader at home too. With that in mind, we have created a “Read-at”home Plan” to help families embed best practices for reading into their daily lives at home with no disruption to their schedules so that reading at home does not become a chore and our students’ reading ability grows along the way. The following are resources and ideas that can help!!
Our Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) is our school's plan to create a school atmosphere here at Bowen Elementary that will inspire each and every student to grow and achieve their goals. While we always want to focus on continuous improvement for our students, the work of our staff must be guided by the love of teaching and learning that helps each child to improve.
